 It seems like a century ago when New York designer Alexander Wang announced his collaboration with Swedish retailer H&M. We were kept on the edge of our seats as Wang gave us mysterious Instagram sneak previews, as well sneaky teaser videos. The glorious moment finally came to reality on November 6th, when his collection made its debut in H&M flagship stores across the world. 

The collection itself is heavily sport-themed, but cast your mind away from our own skorts-and-base-layers idea of sportswear. Wang features designs that could even be seen strutting down Wang’s own illustrious catwalks; the collection featuring WANG emblazoned crop tops and sports bras, grey-flecked leggings decorated with graphic designs and neoprene cropped sweatshirt adorned with, you guessed it, the signature WANG logo. As for the colour, think of 50 shades of grey, black and white, echoing the stone-cold warrior-woman look of the collection.

The collection showcases never-before seen designs, Wang himself stating “I wanted to create a collection where most of the pieces have been designed from scratch. Rather than creating affordable versions of expensive items, I wanted to design true performance pieces that are within the natural price points of sportswear of H&M.” Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, Alexander. Although this collection appears to be very much style based, the fabric used is actually genuine performance wear and can be used for actual sports. As for his own sporting prowess, Wang admitted his passion was very much style based. “I don’t do any sports! I only wear sports clothing.” I can relate to you on an utterly profound level, Mr Wang.
